About Us
Breaking Doors is a pioneering NGO based in Ghana, dedicated to empowering young people, particularly girls and those from rural areas across Africa, to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers. Founded by four accomplished African women in STEM, who collectively boast over 60 years of experience in STEM education, our mission is to support and guide the next generation of African talent to overcome barriers and achieve academic excellence and carve a place for themselves in the workplace.
We are a STEM-focused organization dedicated to empowering Africa’s next generation by connecting young people with opportunities for higher education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
With Africa’s youth poised to make up a significant portion of the future global workforce, we believe equipping them with critical STEM skills is essential to driving innovation and development worldwide.
By sharing their stories and connecting them with scholarships and educational institutions, we aim to unlock the immense potential of African students, ensuring they are prepared to tackle global challenges and thrive in the future economy.
